Et voilà! The Hot Dish storytelling event went very well – good crowd on hand and a lot of laughs. I told the story of the boy who took me dancing. It seemed like the audience enjoyed it, and I felt pretty good up on the stage.

My story starts at about 16:30 – and for those of delicate constitution, I’ll warn you that the story before mine is a little bit racy. It’s adorable, as is Damian Johnson, but might make a handful of you a little uncomfortable. The story after mine by Jill Grunewald is one you have to hear to believe. For the stories presented by Brian Beatty and John Spayde, click here for video of the 2nd half.
AND: because I’m the thorough type, here is the poem I refer to at the end of my story. I dropped a line at the beginning, but telling it the way I did had my intended effect in the story.
Overall, the Hot Dish experience was fantastic and I’m hopeful that there will be more events like this in the future that invite me to participate. Yay stories! Yay microphones! Yay applause and community and being truthful about life, love, and heartbreak!
